Social Media Marketing… SEO Hashtags

So many times I have been asked how to generate more traffic to websites and SEO is my immediate answer. Doing this hand in hand with social media really does help. Here I have listed some tips about SEO Hashtags, social media posts and when to use #Hashtags.

Google Business Manager – Google My Business

GMB is NOT a social network. With posts on GMB you are best to steer away from # your post will most likely be rejected and Google uses AI to check posts. Hashtags look like gibberish to AI and therefore it won’t assist in ranking.

Instagram

Instagram is mainly intended to be a mobile application and loves SEO Hashtags.

Coming up with creative hashtags for your post is always one of the more fun things to do, as well as search for other posts using similar hashtags. This way the traffic to your posts is more in lined with your product or service. Do your research and tread carefully as some hashtags can have a negative outcome.

  1. Make Use Of Trending Keywords,
  2. Simple and Valuable,
  3. Search It Before The Use,
  4. Use Hashtags in Different Platforms,
  5. Create Brand Hashtags

Facebook

So there is some split views on this… here is mine..

Well, the use of hashtags seems to be growing on Facebook. This may be because users can now link their Instagram and Facebook accounts, and cross-post to both channels. We also have to take into account how effective hashtags have proven to be on other channels. Logic tells us that if hashtags are effective elsewhere, they can be applied effectively on Facebook.

Hashtags are used to categorize content so when people search for specific subjects up pops your post… You can check what is trending and keep your content engaging for your audience. Its a great way of getting loyal fans.

It is important not to go overboard. The more hashtags you use can actually decrease your engagement. As with instagram get your brand out there.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn hashtags were introduced in 2018, but its terrain is a little different from the other social networks.

Using hashtags on LinkedIn will make your content easier to find, expand your reach and allow you to connect with other members interested in similar topics.

LinkenIn is popular with B2B marketers and makes up more that 50% of social traffic to websites so use this platform wisely.

Simply put, LinkedIn hashtags are special text snippets that can be used in your posts, articles and within the text on your profile.

Hashtags can be placed after copy, or embedded within copy as long as it makes sense to do so. As a best practice, write your copy and then see if certain keywords can be made into hashtags.  DO #NOT #HASHTAG #EVERY #WORD it just looks like spam.

DON’T add spaces. For example: #JustDoIt not #Just Do It.

DO check your spelling. Hashtags can often be overlooked in proofreads, but a misspelled hashtag is a missed connection.

Again don’t go crazy I suggest 5 Hashtags on a post as any more will possibly get the algorithm in LinkedIn to mark it as spam

If your post or article is about a certain region, or directed at a particular geography, it could be worthwhile to add a destination hashtag.

LinkedIn will automatically suggested relevant hashtags when you begin to write a post. If they seem like a good fit, include them. But don’t add them just for the sake of it.

Twitter

On Twitter, adding a “#” to the beginning of an unbroken word or phrase creates a hashtag. When you use a hashtag in a Tweet, it becomes linked to all of the other Tweets that include it.

Keep in mind, hashtags are not case-sensitive, but adding capital letters does make them easier to read: #MakeAWish vs. #makeawish.

Try and get involved in trending conversations and again ADD YOUR BRAND. #seomarketingtrondez can be something that connects your brand and what you are posting about 🙂

try this, you can also use branded hashtags. This Twitter Ad feature allows brands to add a fun, visually-appealing creative element whenever their hashtag is used across Twitter.
